The daughter of a Peruvian immigrant, raised in Arkansas, Suzi F. Garcia is queer, disabled poet and editor. She has an MFA in Creative Writing with minors in Screen Cultures and Gender Studies and her passions intersect in discussion of social justice and poetry. Suzi is a Co-Publisher at Noemi Press, where she has worked with authors such as the Hannah Ensor, Jennifer Tamayo, Roberto Tejada, Thirii Myint, Mary-Kim Arnold, Susan Briante, Vanessa Villarreal, and more. Suzi works alongside Anthony Cody and Sarah Gzemski.
Suzi is a CantoMundo Fellow, a Macondista, a Lambda Literary Fellow, and participated in the first ever Poetry Incubator at the Poetry Foundation. She has served as a CantoMundo Steering Committee member, CantoMundo regional director, and a board member for the Latinx Caucus.
Her writing has been featured or is forthcoming from POETRY Magazine, the Offing, Vinyl, Fence Magazine, and more. She has presented at PCA/ACA, AWP, and Console-ing Passions, among other national conferences.
